my approach:

The spaces and times we create together are meant to facilitate your growth and change, however that might look for you. Every individual is unique, an expert in their own experiences, and I see the opportunity to act as a support for you along that journey as a collaborative, communal one. You are the author of your story, it’s my role to provide you perspective (and hopefully a moment to breathe) as you write.

thoughts for new clients:

It’s not only okay to be yourself, it’s vitally important! I invite you to show up as holistically human as you can be, and I strive to do the same. For me, that often means humor and the lens of my own personal experiences enter the space, and I look forward to getting to know what it means for you.

ABOUT ME:

As a queer, non-binary person of color, my experiences with power, systemic oppression, and resistance are central to my therapeutic practice. Similarly, my approach is also shaped by my lived experiences with chronic illness and informed by disability justice. Navigating identity (in all its facets), community and communication, and life’s traumas and stressors are all areas I have interest in, with a particular focus on supporting multiply-marginalized people in LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.

I am also currently a graduate student at the University of Illinois Chicago Jane Addams College of Social Work, which means curiosity and learning are integral to everything I do. I bring my professional experiences working with people experiencing unsheltered and sheltered homelessness, children and families in medical settings, and community mental health to every space, as well as my academic backgrounds in social work, ethnic studies, and English literature.
