ABOUT ME:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience serving people needing support in their lives. I have worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use problems, chronic suicidal ideation, thought disorder, hoarding, and the trauma from abuse in their lives. Very recently, I helped women who were formerly homeless maintain their own homes and help them address issues that were barriers to keeping their homes, as well as supporting staff to do this work as well.
I use a relational modality, believing that the relationship between the person and the practitioner is the key to positive change. I also have experience with mindfulness work and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and its skill work to assist in sessions. I also use Motivational Interviewing skills in my work. I believe in Irvin Yalom's saying, "Create a new therapy for each client," as I partner with a new client to help them shape their goals and the agenda for our work together. I am also EMDR trained.
