ABOUT ME:
Do you feel stuck? Full of worry or anxiety? Are you wondering how to make a change in your life but not sure how to do it? Maybe you’ve had a bad therapy experience or are new to it, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, intimidated, and unsure where to start. If you have reached this page, you are already taking positive steps forward with your mental health and well-being.
Let’s work together to create a therapeutic experience that leaves you feeling more centered, heard, and fulfilled. As a queer, nonbinary therapist, I ground my therapeutic approach in intersectionality and identity, and I believe each person is an expert in their own lived experience. I utilize a client-centered, strength-based approach to guide adults and adolescents who are queer, transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, kinky/polyamorous/consensually non-monogamous to explore their thoughts and behaviors in a supportive environment that is free from judgment or stigma.
I use an eclectic array of modalities that incorporate acceptance, mindfulness, somatic, psychoeducation, and solution-focused elements. I operate with a harm-reduction approach to substances and have special interests/experience working with adults and teens navigating gender, sexuality, identity, and life transitions. As your therapist, it is not my job to tell you what to do but rather to guide you and support you to make the best decision for yourself.
Before graduating from The University of Chicago with an A.M. (Artium Magister) master’s degree in social work, I worked in advertising for eight years, constantly suffering from corporate burnout. The pandemic allowed me to reflect on my values, and I pivoted to a life I wanted to live. My life and educational experience have contributed to my straightforward, relational, compassionate, curious, and humorous approach with clients. As therapists, we are healers who are life-long learners; with each session comes a learning experience.
In my free time, you can find me playing with my rambunctious goldendoodle, binging TV, finding exercise by moving my body, connecting with friends, playing video games/board games, and watching drag shows.
