ABOUT ME:
I am a seasoned counselor educator, clinical supervisor, and mental health professional with over 15 years of experience providing therapeutic services to adolescents, adults, and families across school, community, and clinical settings. I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, exploring the impact of women of color “change agents” or “professional helpers” who experience Intergenerational Trauma. My training includes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), grief and loss work, and trauma-informed care.
I am a Certified Grief Counselor and an active member of professional counseling organizations. I am committed to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and creating safe, affirming therapeutic spaces where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to achieve their personal and emotional goals.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as an adjunct instructor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where I teach graduate-level courses in diagnosis, treatment planning, practicum, internship, grief counseling, and helping relationships. I have supervised and trained master’s-level counselors and interns, provided clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams, and facilitated professional development for educators and mental health professionals.
