my approach:

Regardless of what a client is coming in for, I use a relational, trauma-informed approach for all of my clients to help build a strong therapeutic alliance and safe space. I like to take an eclectic/integrative approach, so that I can adapt my work to the specific needs, identities, and experiences of clients, and usually incorporate aspects of internal family systems, ACT, DBT, and narrative therapy.

thoughts for new clients:

I am a Licensed Social Worker committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally humble, and client-centered psychotherapy. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the challenges of navigating systems that too often inflict further harm and trauma. I aim to counteract such experiences by providing you with a safe, empathetic, and non-pathologizing environment that embraces vulnerability, fosters resilience, and holds space for the parts of you that you’ve historically been told to hide.

I completed both my BSW and MSW from Loyola University Chicago, specializing in mental health and migration studies. My clinical specialties and interests include trauma, gender & sexuality exploration, depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. I also have experience working with community college students, immigrants & refugees, and survivors of intimate partner violence.

As a social worker, intersectionality and social justice are central in my practice and philosophy; I view you within the context of your identities and environment and consider what in those spheres may be helping or hurting you. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, allowing me to adapt our work to your unique needs, identities, and lived experiences. Theories and models that I commonly draw from include relational-cultural, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and internal family systems. Regardless of what guides our work together, I will treat you as the expert of their own experiences and use this mindset to empower you to be the agent of change in your own life. Above all, I value the power of human connection and relationships, and I aim to build a growth-fostering, therapeutic alliance with you that can itself be a catalyst for healing.
