my approach:

I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients build coping skills and break out of distressing patterns of relating to the world. Both approaches are practical, accessible, and focused on real-life applications. In addition to skills-based work, I take a trauma-informed, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approach to understanding the deeper dynamics behind emotional distress. I’m not just here to teach techniques—I want to help clients understand how their minds work so they can relate to themselves with more clarity and compassion. I approach my work through an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and anti-capitalist lens. I do this work because it is my calling in life. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, and I specialize in supporting people whose lives or identities may not fit into conventional boxes. I am kink-aware, accepting of non-monogamy, and have lived experience in both of these realms. I aim to meet people where they are and offer care that honors who they are and how they live.

thoughts for new clients:

I believe that queer people who are able to work through their trauma and confront the burdens they carry have the potential to live joyful, abundant lives. But that journey can be hard to take alone—especially in a world that too often refuses to see us for who we really are. If you’re queer, trans, or simply living a life outside the norm, you may have experienced therapy spaces where you had to educate your clinician just to be understood. I strive to offer something different: a space where you don’t need to justify yourself or over-explain. A space where your identity, your lifestyle, and your community are respected and affirmed. Whether you’re exploring gender or sexuality, navigating relationships, or seeking more peace and stability in daily life, I want to help you find a way forward that aligns with your truth and values.

ABOUT ME:

I am a clinical social worker who specializes in helping LGBT people, especially trans people. I’ve lived my truth for years and am deeply embedded in the queer community through chosen family, friendships, and shared struggle. I bring both lived experience and clinical training to my work with clients, and I am a firm supporter of trans rights across the board. I follow WPATH’s Standards of Care and offer gender-affirming support across all stages of transition. I’m also happy to write referrals for medical care related to gender identity.

I am a member of the International Association of Social Work with Groups, and I believe group work is a powerful antidote to the isolation and disconnection so many of us feel today. I regularly attend consultation groups to hone my clinical skills and deepen my practice. I’m also trained in the Game to Grow method of using tabletop roleplaying games in therapy.

In my spare time, I work as a professional gamemaster, running Dungeons & Dragons games for a fee. I offer sliding scale services because I believe queer people deserve access to quality care, regardless of their financial circumstances.
